We collect information when you fill out our contact form, call, email or text us, ask about a property, request a showing or pre-qualification, or work with us on a transaction. This may include:

• Transaction information, such as listing details, offers, contracts and documents you choose to send us
• Financial information you choose to share to help with pre-qualification or a transaction
• The contents of your messages to us

Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank account numbers or full payment card numbers through our website form or by regular email.

Information collected automatically

When you visit, our website host and the services described below may automatically receive your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, and the date and time. We use this for security, troubleshooting and understanding how the site is used.

Cookies and similar technologies

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking on the pages we control. Some third-party tools on this site may set their own cookies or collect technical data, including our spam-protection tool on the contact form and our property search tool which is provided through our membership in Canopy MLS. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work properly.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with unrelated third parties for their own marketing.

3. How we share your information

We share information only as needed to provide our services or as required by law:

• Service providers that help us run the site and our business, such as website hosting, form processing and spam protection (see section 4).
• Multiple listing services and real estate platforms, including our property search tool which is provided through our membership in Canopy MLS, when you use the property search or when we list a property.
• Transaction parties, such as lenders, attorneys, title and closing companies, inspectors, appraisers, other brokers and the other side of a transaction, when needed to carry out your transaction.
• Government agencies, courts and regulators when we are legally required to, including the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.
• Other parties with your consent.
• A successor business, if RJR is sold or reorganized, subject to this policy.

4. Third-party services on this website

• GitHub Pages hosts this website and may log visitor IP addresses and request data.
• Formspree processes the contact form and forwards your message to us. Your name, email, phone and message pass through its servers.
• Google reCAPTCHA helps protect the contact form from spam. It collects hardware and software information and other data and sends it to Google. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Google Fonts loads the typefaces used on this site, which means your browser requests files from Google servers.
• Our property search tool is provided through our membership in Canopy MLS (IDX search). It may collect information about your searches and any registration you complete, under its own terms and privacy policy. Listing data is provided through our membership in Canopy MLS and is subject to its rules.

These providers have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

5. Email, calls and text messages

We may contact you by phone, email or text at the contact details you provide, about your inquiry or transaction. We send marketing emails or texts only as the law allows, and every marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe. If you agree to receive text messages, message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out. Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of working with us.

6. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption on this website and limiting access to personal information to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by North Carolina law, including the Identity Theft Protection Act.

7. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, or longer if the law requires. Transaction records are kept for the period required by North Carolina Real Estate Commission rules and other applicable law. Contact-form inquiries that do not lead to a transaction are kept for as long as they are useful to respond to you, then deleted or anonymized.

8. Your choices and rights

North Carolina does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy law, but we offer these choices to every visitor and client. You may ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
• Correct information that is inaccurate
• Delete your information, except where we must keep it by law or for an active or recent transaction
• Stop sending you marketing emails or texts

To make a request, use the site "Contact Us" page or call 704-784-1417. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within 45 days. We will not treat you unfairly for making a request. If you live in a state with its own privacy law, you may have additional rights, and we will honor them as required.

Because we do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising, there is nothing to opt out of in those respects. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide an opt-out, including honoring browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control where the law requires.

9. Children’s privacy

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Links to other websites

This website may link to other sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.

11. Important notices

Wire fraud warning. Criminals send fake emails with altered wiring instructions during real estate transactions. Always confirm wire instructions by calling our office or your closing attorney at a phone number you already know. We will never change wiring instructions by email.

Email is not a contract. Emails may contain confidential information. Email discussions are not offers, acceptances or binding agreements. Real estate contracts must be in writing on approved forms and signed by the parties.
